- עַרְעַר(עִרְעוּר) m. (עִרְעֵר I) protest; evidence of illegitimacy or disqualification. Keth.21b וקרא ע׳ על אחד מהן and the qualification of one of the judges was contested; ib. sq. ע׳ דמאי of what nature was that alleged disqualification?; ע׳ דגזלנותא a disqualification based on the charge of robbery; ע׳ דפגם משפחה based on alleged family blemish (descent from slaves).
